Ok, Sharon here. I’m in charge tonight. It’s Sunday.

What a day. We started at the peoples market. The first thing we saw were hanging chickens. Really! A bicycle adorned with hanging live chickens. Don’t know if they were going to market or if they were a to-go order but they were definitely alive, restrained and hanging on a bicycle. This set the tone for our 2 hour walk through the market. Flowers, veggies, fish, live animals and a lot of Indians breast feeding babies.

Chicken to go

We then wandered onto the Museo de la Medicina Maya. Wandered? After a significant walk, we found the museo. This is a outdoor museum of ancient Mayan healing and we had full run of the property. In other words no one else was there nor do they seem to care.

Oh! By the way, did we tell you about the fabulous documentary we saw last night?  Robert Stack was the executive producer of a Mexican mafia flick that sucked green tomatoes. We dropped off “Senior Donnie’s” documentary just to show off. I think they will show it proudly.

Alright, back to today.

Tomorrow we are supposed to meet a Shaman priest at the museum. Hopefully to enlighten us as to the powers of healing Mayan style. After all this we went and had a wonderful lunch of nopalitos salad and some kind of squash blossoms and fungused corn. Yummy?  What the hell did we order? Of course for us anything is good as long as there is enough drink involved. After all this excitement we went and took a nap.

After checking copious amounts of video and still photography we hit the street again. We came upon a fabulous gallery with an exceptionally friendly proprietor. The art was exceptional and he was teaching a class on sculptingAfter this, guess what, we went to eat again. This time a Sicilian owned restaurant. Owned by a Robin Williams look alike. Hair and all. Great carbonara.

On the street in San Cristobal

We are now back at the hostile. We figure today we have spent $22.00 on the room, $14.00 on food and pick a number on the alcohol. So for those of who really know us, it’s Sunday. We will get with you tomorrow again after all the excitement of the rest of the evening.
