May 29 – This is the first morning we weren’t awakened by barking dogs or pissed off roosters. After the last three days of hard driving sleep was deep and yummy. In fact the only thing we did today was wake up. Although, once the sun went down we managed to find a bar on 5th Avenue to watch the Spurs whip up on the Thunder.
May 30 – Walked 5th Ave. again. While checking out potential fun stuff to do we actually stooped so low by agreeing to sit through one of those 90 minute “presentations” of high pressure time share sales. The “pitch” was incredible. Some how we could become billionaires if we take them up on this one time offer. In actuality, it was pretty fun just screwing with them just so we could get a couple of free tickets to some cheap entertainment. Later we retired to the condo for a siesta and never really got back out.
May 31 – Ok, we really needed to hit the beach. Heck, we’re in Playa del Carmen. We languished in the waves a good two hours, walked the coastline another hour and generally enjoyed each other’s company. We made our way to one of our favorite beach bars about ten minutes after the sky opened up with a blinding tropical storm. So, we waited it out with Alex the bartender over beers and tequila. Once back to the condo we welcomed to the presence of several inches of water originating from the ceiling of our bathroom.
Lovely…
